1. Sep 03, 2020 Depending on your site settings, Webex displays a disclaimer each time that you download or play a recording. Accept the terms of the disclaimer to continue. Anyone that you share the recording link with can play and download it from the player view.
2. The first time that you download an.ARF recording from your Webex site, you are asked to download and install the Webex Network Recording Player to play the recording. However, if you have received a link to a Webex Meetings recording, you can select the link to stream and view the recording without downloading the Network Recording Player.

Make sure the Cisco Webex Network Recording Player for Advanced Recording Format (ARF) files is installed on your computer. If it's not installed, you can download it from the Download file window that appears when you download the recording file. You can also download it from the Downloads page that is available under Support on your Cisco Webex site.

The below steps are for Windows users only. MacOS is unable to convert ARF files to other file types.

Convert a Recording

1	Download the recording file to your local computer. For details, see Download and Play a Cisco Webex Recording.
2	Do one of the following: Open the recording file from your Downloads window. Open the Network Recording Player and go to File > Open to locate and open the recording file.
3	While you're playing the meeting in the Network Recording Player, go to File > Convert Format > WMV (Windows Media Format).
4	In the Save as: box, specify where to save the file.
5	Under Content options, select any of the following: Chat: Includes all chat conversations. Q&A: If you're recording a Cisco Webex Training session, this includes any Q&A sessions. Notes: Includes any notes entered into the Notes panel. Video: Includes the meeting video. Polling: If you're recording a Webex Training session, this includes any polls. File Transfer
6	Select Preview Layout to preview your content settings.
7	Under Conversion Start Time, choose one of the following: Convert now: Converts the file as you save it to your computer. Convert at a scheduled time: Saves the file and then converts it at the date and time you select.
8	At Video Codec select one of the following: Windows Media Video 9: This codec creates output that is compatible with the following players: Windows Media Player 6.4+ Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X Windows Media Player 9 Series and Windows Media Player 9.1 for Pocket PC or SmartPhone Windows Media Video 9 screen: This codec creates files that can be played with Windows Media Player 7 or later.
9	Select OK.

MP4 Recordings Default in Webex Meetings 40.10
In the upcoming October (40.10) update, all-new recordings in Webex Meetings will be stored in MP4 format, either in the cloud or locally as selected at the site or host level, with a video-centric experience. By standardizing the recording format, you'll have a wider choice of playback tools, better security, and a more effortless collaboration experience even after your meetings. Existing ARF and WRF recordings can still be downloaded or played at the Webex site. End of Support for Windows 7
In the upcoming September 2020 (40.9) update, Cisco Webex will officially end support for the Windows 7 operating system. Cisco will no longer provide bug fixes or updates for this operating system and browser. While users on these platforms will not be prevented from joining or starting meetings, for now, we can no longer guarantee a fully functional operation. To have the best meeting experience possible, plan to upgrade your operating system and browser. Please note that we are actively working on establishing dates to prevent the users on these platforms from joining Webex meetings in the future. We will provide advanced notice once we have the dates.

This utility allows a user to convert multiple WRF files generated by recording Webex meetings on a local machine to WMV file format in one batch. After installation, additional usage details can be found in a README file in the installation directory.

• INSTALL:
  1. Open atwrf2wmv.zip and extract all contents to a temporary location.
  2. Browse to temporary location and run atwrf2wmv.msi to begin installation.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the Webex Converter.
• UNINSTALL:
  1. Open atwrf2wmv.zip and extract all contents to a temporary location.
  2. Browse to temporary location and run atwrf2wmv.msi to begin removal.
  3. Click Next in the first screen and then select Remove and click Next.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the Webex Converter.

Note: Currently Webex does not support the conversion of .WRF files recorded on 4K resolution to any other format nor the codec H264 is accepted and this is a known issue.
